Liberty Creek Campus

Gallatin, TN

Sumner County is growing, and with that growth came a clear need. More students, more families, and a shared desire to create a place where education could keep pace with the community around it. The opportunity was not just to build new schools, but to create a campus that truly supports the people who use it every day.

At Liberty Creek Campus, Sumner County Schools led with that vision. Across 268 acres, they brought together a high school, a middle school, and an elementary school into one connected environment, designed around the student experience. The land itself played an important role in shaping that vision. Instead of overworking the site, the approach focused on working with it. Grading was minimized, and natural and cultural features were respected, allowing the campus to feel grounded in its surroundings from day one.

We partnered with Sumner County Schools to help bring that vision to life through civil engineering design and construction administration services. Our team supported everything from roadway and circulation planning to utilities, grading, stormwater, ADA access, and athletic facilities. Each piece was designed with a focus on how people would actually move through and experience the campus on a daily basis.

The high school serves as the anchor, supporting 1,600 students in a 313,000-square-foot facility. Surrounding it is a network of spaces that extend learning beyond the classroom. Athletic facilities, open green spaces, and gathering areas create opportunities for connection, activity, and community use. The campus includes a football stadium, baseball and softball fields, soccer fields, and a county regulation track that also hosts local events.

Throughout the process, Sumner County remained focused on one thing. Creating the best possible experience for students. That focus shows up in how the campus feels. It is intuitive to navigate, connected across grade levels, and designed to support both academic and everyday moments.

Completed in phases between 2022 and 2024, Liberty Creek Campus reflects a long-term investment in Sumner County’s future. It is a place designed for real life, where students can learn, grow, and feel connected to something bigger than themselves.

"One word that comes to mind when I think of CSDG is professionalism. From the principals on down, every single employee I’ve worked with is really responsive, and it’s been a pleasure to work with the team." - Don Long, Senior Project Manager, Sumner County Schools
