East Greenway Park

East Greenway Park demonstrates how thoughtful neighborhood planning can create housing that not only serves residents but also strengthens its connection to the surrounding community. Located on 10 acres in Nashville’s Rosebank neighborhood, the 62-home single-family development was designed to encourage an active lifestyle while preserving the site’s natural character and expanding access to outdoor amenities.

The cottage-style community offers a mix of homes ranging from approximately 1,200 to 2,200 square feet, thoughtfully arranged to maximize walkability and access to shared open space. More than 40 percent of the site was preserved as protected green space, allowing the neighborhood to integrate with its natural surroundings while providing room for recreation and gathering. Wide sidewalks, trails, and bike paths connect residents to Shelby Park and the Music City Bikeway, making it easy to walk, bike, and enjoy nearby community amenities. A dog park, fitness station, and community fire pit further support everyday opportunities for recreation and neighbor interaction.

CSDG provided planning and civil engineering services for the development, helping shape a neighborhood that balances housing, infrastructure, and open space. Our team developed the site layout and designed the grading, utility infrastructure, drainage, and stormwater systems to support the community’s long-term functionality while preserving the site’s natural features and walkable character.
